Heading up the coaching team is Terry Mooney, a player and coach who is held in high esteem in Canterbury tennis circles.

Born in 1953, Terry grew up in Christchurch. He had extensive tournament play at local and national level.

Terry became a full time tennis coach with NZPTCA qualification in 1974, and he was Canterbury Regional Coach in the late 1970's.

Terry has had several stints of coaching in Germany, and has been club coach at Edgeware Club till about 1997, when he took the position of full time Pro Coach at Elmwood Tennis Club.
He plays competitively in local competitions, and has won various National Vets Doubles and Mixed Doubles titles since eligibility.

Terry and June's son Simon has also coached for Elmwood Tennis club for several years, but has had to place things on hold since his induction in NZ Police Force. Terry's brother Michael coaches tennis in Blenheim.

Terry is not just a coach but a very accomplished player, especially in North Canterbury interclub circuit as well as a regular tournament player.

Terry Mooney has been a full time tennis coach since 1975 and is well qualified to coach any ability level from 6 year old beginner through to tournament players and the Veteran, of which he is proudly one himself. He still plays competitive tennis and was a member of the New Zealand 50-55 years Tennis Team which won the Australasian Teams competition in January 2006.
